New to our list this year is this beautiful feminine, silky GSM blend from a young winemaker - Alice Anderson - who is based in Santa Barbara. Certified biodynamic, the wine has been made in a hands off, natural style to showcase the purity of the fruit from these outstanding vineyards. And what a stunning result - aromatic and floral with cherry, plum, blackberry and blueberry to the fore, natural sweetness showing through along with a pleasing minerally, earthy note and peppery spice. The oak is well handled, just a hint, and the wine has fresh acidity, fine tannins and great length. It's got everything - plush fruit, freshness, balance, complexity, length - and even moderate alcohol at 12.8%. A small production wine hugely influenced by the winemaker's time spent in the Rhone.
