Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret produce some of the finest wines in the Maconnais, both through their own Domaine de la Soufrandiere and through their negociant arm, where they work with high quality organic vineyards owned by friends. And so this is more than just a simple Macon Villages. It's a superbly made wine - fresh and precise with minerally citrus and peach fruit, a subtle buttery note, zippy acidity and great length. I read one note describing it as "like great flat Champagne" and actually that's a great description. It's a beautiful wine and we'll be listing more from them soon.
