This stunning wine from a 1.2 hectare organic plot within the Jardin de Hormigas vineyard in the Uco Valley (1200m above sea level) has rapidly built a reputation as one of Argentina's top reds, with this vintage being scored 98 points by Tim Atkin. It's one of the newer style of fresher, mineral dominated Malbecs that seem to be replacing the big oaky wines of a few years ago and the wines are better for it. It opens up gradually to reveal a complex array of aromas and flavours - fresh cherries, plum, blackcurrants, graphite, smoke, truffle, white pepper and lemon balm, with a balsamic note and subtle earthiness. The palate is ample, juicy and crisp with great grip and the finish is persistent and pure. Top notch.
