Restless River have been on our radar for a while as we'd heard great things about Craig Wessels' wines. They have quietly achieved cult status for their small production range of finely crafted stunners. The Le Luc Pinot Noir is, as with all the wines, incredibly impressive. A beautiful nose of wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry invites you into the very refined palate (again, you could easily mistake for fine Burgundy). Plush and silky, with very fine tannins and vibrant acidity, the fresh red fruit comes through along with some earthy forest floor notes, a hint of spice, and an aromatic floral note - a good mix of sweet and savoury. There's also a subtle smokiness in there. Very textural, well balanced, complex, harmonious, long - top quality!!
