We've been after a good Picpoul for a while given that it's such an easy drinking - and sometimes overlooked - wine. La Croix Gratiot are one of the top producers in the region and since Anais Ricome took over the estate, they have gone from strength to strength. She has overseen the transition to biodynamics and the estate was certified organic in 2021. The wines have recently been described as "the pinnacle of Picpoul de Pinet". This is a wonderfully crisp wine, full of fresh lime, lemon and grapefruit with a refreshing mouthfeel and a decent length of finish. It's not massively complex but you don't need it to be - it's bright and balanced and very moreish, so you really can't go wrong.
