This is the new release from the iconic El Reventon vineyard that has been relaunched under the ownership of Adrianna Catena (Argentina wine superstar).  Given the quality of the biodynamically farmed 1 hectare vineyard, planted in 1943, the pedigree of the previous owners (Comando G), and the ambition of the new owners, plus the fact that the new release is under half the price of the last Comando G release, this is a highly anticipated launch.  Just 2248 bottles were produced and the bottle we drank was excellent.  Packed with fresh wild strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate, with a tiny hint of spritz, the wine has great elegance and energy as well as subtle hints of minerals, truffles and spice.  It needs to settle down a bit but all the components are there for this to develop wonderfully in bottle.  Given the new price and limited availability, it won't be long before the price starts creeping up again.  A shrewd buy right now.
