We're loving new wave Spanish wines at the moment and this stunning white is from old vines planted in volcanic soils on Tenerife - and you can taste it!  Listan Blanco is the local name for Palomino and this wine gives us everything we're looking for in a white - freshness, balance, minerality, purity and real character.  A smoky, struck match nose (which does disappear after a few minutes) leads you into a palate with ripe stone fruit (peach, apricot), citrus, creaminess, mouth watering acidity, wet stones and a saline note.  A bit of nuttiness on the finish too.  It's quite textural on the palate, really long, balanced, complex and different.  This would certainly appeal to those that love top end Chablis.
