We used to sell Cousino Macul's wines years ago (when we owned another wine merchant business) and they always used to hugely over delivered. And they still do, as their flagship Finis Terrae shows. This is a Bordeaux blend from their best vineyards that showcases how well suited these varieties are to Chile. With a bit of bottle age, this is drinking superbly - lots of cassis, blackcurrant, plum and cherry, intertwined with tobacco, graphite, mocha and finely judged oak. With bright acidity and fine tannins, this has the bones to develop even further. But, as we've always said, if it tastes great, then drink it. And this tastes great.
