When you pair an iconic estate that produces some of the greatest, most structured and longest lived Barolos, with a vintage considered to be one of the finest on record, the results are obviously outstanding.  This is a beauty, with a huge array of vibrant fruit and perfume on the nose, sweet, spicy and aromatic.  The palate is full bodied yet elegant with cherry and wild strawberry fruit, sweet spice, liquorice, leather, tar, earth, cedar, tobacco -a huge amount going on.  It has an incredible structure, really built for the long term, with fine grained tannins and bright acidity.  The complexity, balance and length is exceptional at this stage and will get better as it develops in bottle.  Truly outstanding and, at half the price of their single vineyard Barolos, this is a real bargain.  As good as Barolo gets at this price.
