We've sold Miles' wines for years - the Max being a constant favourite of ours - and we've always heard great things about their almost mythical top wine, Sam.  Named after Miles' wife, this is a Bordeaux blend produced from their best vineyards and it's constantly rated as one of SA's top reds by critics.  The downside is that you rarely ever see it in the UK.  We've managed to get our hands on a few bottles and it's a beauty, packed with cassis, cherries, cedar and tobacco, very fine tannins, balanced acidity and a terrific structure.  It's plush and forward, drinking really well now but I reckon that around 10 years will be the peak drinking window (they say cellar potential of 15 years).  1204 bottles produced so not a lot!
