Ocampo is the new Tenerife project from Jonatan Garcia Lima, the winemaker behind two of the Canary Islands' best producers - Suertes del Marques and Bodegas Tameran.  Organically farmed on ancient soils that offer exceptional mineral complexity to the vines, the vineyards are planted with indigenous varieties and, from what we've tasted so far, these wines are crackers.  The Vidueno Blanco is bright, zippy and fresh with notes of peach, apricot and citrus, that cleansing minerality coming through along with a saline note and a subtle textural creaminess.  It's got high acidity, so really crisp, and is well balanced, moreish and more complex that you initially might think.  Truly excellent and, if you're yet to try a wine from the Canary Islands, then this is as good a place as any to start.
