Racines is an exciting new collaboration between Etienne de Montille (of Burgundy's Domaine de Montille) and his Californian born winemaker, Brian Sieve.  It's a combination of world class vineyards, world class winemaking and world class people which makes this one of California's most exciting ventures.  Their wines all come from Santa Barbara County, from highly coveted sites in the Santa Rita Hills where they get good warmth during the day but coolness at night balances this.  Being only 10km from the Pacific adds freshness.

Bentrock is one of their two single vineyard Chardonnays and it is sensational.  A pure, defined Chardonnay exhibiting vibrant lemon curd, pineapple, mango, white flowers and crushed stones, with a subtle buttery finish.  Everything is in perfect harmony and balance, clearly New World but with a nod to fine white Burgundy, and you can see why this wine is so highly rated (and coveted).  The sort of wine that makes the world a better place!
