This wine is part of a new project involving wine importer Ben Henshaw, wine writer Jamie Goode and Zalto glass importer Daniel Primack, working alongside some of their favourite winemakers. Their focus is on terroir driven wines from various regions - they call the project the salt of the earth range - and this means factors other than rich fruit coming into play - for example, minerality, acidity, salinity and texture. Their Riesling is made by Theresa Breuer, who runs the excellent George Breuer estate in Germany's Rheingau. And it's another stunner - a crisp, laser cut wine with lemon & lime acidity and stony minerality that work perfectly in harmony. Throw in some subtle kerosene notes, a hint of honey and the saline finish, it's a cracker.
