Whitewolfe Estates is a new venture from ex Plumpton students Clare Whitehead and Luke Wolfe, with the aim of making the UK's finest still wines.  Their 10 hectare vineyard is in Kit's Coty, fast becoming recognised as "the" place to plant vines for still wine, especially Chardonnay.   They planted 7 Chardonnay clones in 2019 so it makes the quality of their releases all the more remarkable given the youth of the vines.  These are very fine wines indeed. We love their KC1 and KC2, both unique in their own ways, and so too is the new KC4 release.  I think it sits in the middle of the two - again, fairly Burgundian with a struck match note, citrus, minerality and a hint of cream; vibrant acidity and a flinty core, plus with wonderful balance and a great length of finish.  Will it age as long as the 2022s?  I'm not sure - only time will tell - but it's another fine offering from this producer to watch.
